Back To Maybelline

In a previous post I raved about how much I loved the Flawless Matte Finish foundation by Barry M. As much as I loved the product it was too dark for me once my tan had faded and I was too lazy to reapply it. I decided that it was time to find a foundation that matched my skin again and whilst in Boots I decided to go back to my make-up roots. I chose to buy Dream Satin Liquid by Maybelline because I've had it before so I knew I would have good results.

'Air-whipped foundation, air-brush finish'

I'm not going to lie, it took me AGES to find a colour that matched my skin tone. When I've had the product before I had Fawn but I decided to go for Nude to be on the safe side. I'm really happy with the colour, I have quite pale skin (I need a holiday!) so I didn't want a colour that made my face look like a completely different colour to my neck and the visible part of my chest.
The coverage is good, I knew that before I bought it but I wouldn't go as far as to say that I achieve an airbrushed finish. I apply my foundation with a foundation brush and maybe another technique could help me get better coverage, but I am happy enough to keep using the product. I find the product does cling to dry areas at times, but a good primer or moisturiser base does combat this.

The most important thing about the product for me is that Maybelline claim it will give you a pore-less finish and that is the main thing I look for when buying a foundation because I've never really had clear skin. I don't think the product gives me a flawless finish when I wear it on its own but with the Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer my pores are hardly visible.

The Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer is an absolute must have! It comes in a small tube with a brush on the end which is just amazing because you can throw it into your bag and top up at anytime without any hassle of trying to find your concealer brush. I bought it in Nude as well so that it matched my foundation and I would be very confident to say that it gave me a flawless finish!

Topshop Jewellery Sale

Statement jewellery has been big this year, literally! There have been so many pieces in Topshop that I kept seeing and thinking yes please, but at £12 a go I just couldn't justify to go in and buy everything I wanted. This is why I was so excited when I went into my local store to see the Freedom Jewellery was on sale! I didn't get as much as I'd hoped for but the pieces I got will definitely freshen up my winter wardrobe a little bit.

The cross necklace - originally £7.50, on sale for £3.25
The hoops - originally £5.50, on sale for £2
The arrow necklace - originally 12.50, on sale for £6.25

I've been a fain of the chunky chain trend over summer and I've definitely over worn mine so it's so nice to have some new jewellery. I love it all and they're so nice to wear, even the hoops! Unlike other hoop earrings they're really lightweight so they don't hurt my ears.

I did get more but I don't want to ruin any Christmas surprises! I would definitely say that it's worth looking in your local Topshop for any good buys, every girl needs a big necklace!
