Topshop Must Haves

Lately things haven't really been going to plan for me so I did the only thing I could think of to cheer myself up... I went shopping! Everyone knows I'm a massive fan of Topshop clothing, I think they're great quality and although it's pricey I think it's worth it. I love the things I've bought recently and I really wanted to share them with you!

This picture really doesn't do the top any justice at all. It's gorgeous! I bought it in a size 8 even though it's quite baggy. The material is quite sheer in between the velvet but it isn't revealing so you could get away with just wearing a black bra underneath it. It is a crop top but it's just long enough to wear with high waisted jeans. It's the sort of piece that you could do so much with, it can be dressed up or down. I'll admit that I wouldn't normally spend £28 on a top but after I saw a girl working in Topshop wearing I had to have it. I love it so much and I love wearing it with joni jeans, a leather jacket and a long chain.

This top is a bit different to the sort of thing I'd normally buy but I love it, it's the sort of thing that I want to get more of. It's the perfect length for high waisted jeans but it comes down low enough for normal jeans too. It looks great with a chunky chain and hoops! As much as I love it I loved the price too, £22 is an acceptable price to pay for such a great value top. I love it with a leather jacket, rolled up jeans and puma suedes. Any colour lipstick can be worn with this as well so there really isn't any reason not to get it!

This photo doesn't do this dress any justice. I've been loving velvet recently and this dress is so perfect for the party season. It's dressy but casual at the same time. The small amount of lace makes it stunning, it's tight in all the right places but flowy in the skirt. I love it so much and for £35 I'm already getting the wear out of it. The only problem with this dress is that my chest is a bit too big for the 'cups' in the dress but if I tried on any size bigger than an 8 it was too big in other places.

Everything is available on the Topshop website, just click on the titles and off you go! I bought more (obviously) but not everything is still online. I'll take some pictures of how I style each piece and post them another day! Let me know if you've bought anything recently!

Back To Maybelline

In a previous post I raved about how much I loved the Flawless Matte Finish foundation by Barry M. As much as I loved the product it was too dark for me once my tan had faded and I was too lazy to reapply it. I decided that it was time to find a foundation that matched my skin again and whilst in Boots I decided to go back to my make-up roots. I chose to buy Dream Satin Liquid by Maybelline because I've had it before so I knew I would have good results.

'Air-whipped foundation, air-brush finish'

I'm not going to lie, it took me AGES to find a colour that matched my skin tone. When I've had the product before I had Fawn but I decided to go for Nude to be on the safe side. I'm really happy with the colour, I have quite pale skin (I need a holiday!) so I didn't want a colour that made my face look like a completely different colour to my neck and the visible part of my chest.
The coverage is good, I knew that before I bought it but I wouldn't go as far as to say that I achieve an airbrushed finish. I apply my foundation with a foundation brush and maybe another technique could help me get better coverage, but I am happy enough to keep using the product. I find the product does cling to dry areas at times, but a good primer or moisturiser base does combat this.

The most important thing about the product for me is that Maybelline claim it will give you a pore-less finish and that is the main thing I look for when buying a foundation because I've never really had clear skin. I don't think the product gives me a flawless finish when I wear it on its own but with the Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer my pores are hardly visible.

The Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer is an absolute must have! It comes in a small tube with a brush on the end which is just amazing because you can throw it into your bag and top up at anytime without any hassle of trying to find your concealer brush. I bought it in Nude as well so that it matched my foundation and I would be very confident to say that it gave me a flawless finish!

Topshop Jewellery Sale

Statement jewellery has been big this year, literally! There have been so many pieces in Topshop that I kept seeing and thinking yes please, but at £12 a go I just couldn't justify to go in and buy everything I wanted. This is why I was so excited when I went into my local store to see the Freedom Jewellery was on sale! I didn't get as much as I'd hoped for but the pieces I got will definitely freshen up my winter wardrobe a little bit.

The cross necklace - originally £7.50, on sale for £3.25
The hoops - originally £5.50, on sale for £2
The arrow necklace - originally 12.50, on sale for £6.25

I've been a fain of the chunky chain trend over summer and I've definitely over worn mine so it's so nice to have some new jewellery. I love it all and they're so nice to wear, even the hoops! Unlike other hoop earrings they're really lightweight so they don't hurt my ears.

I did get more but I don't want to ruin any Christmas surprises! I would definitely say that it's worth looking in your local Topshop for any good buys, every girl needs a big necklace!

Make Me Blush - Look Beauty

I've wanted this blusher for ages now so on a recent shopping trip to Milton Keynes I stopped messing around and just bought it! The only reason it took me so long was because I couldn't decide on a shade, in the end I just chose a pretty pink and I love it! The Look Beauty range is exclusive to Superdrug and I'm in there looking at make-up all the time. I've never spent any time looking at the range before as I always walked past it but recently I decided to try something new. I've always been more into beauty on a budget because I can't justify spending ridiculous amounts on make up - as much as I'd like to! Right now, in Superdrug and on the Look Beauty website various products are half price, so for £4 I had to try this blusher finally!

I bought shade 3 Pinch, it comes in a cute baby pink box which is surprisingly difficult to open! The blusher box itself is silver and it has a small square mirror inside for use on the go.

I'm really happy with this product. I saw the tester in the shop so I knew it was a pink blusher with a shimmer, it really compliments my sand foundation as it gives me a subtle colour that's buildable so I can control how bright I want it to be. It gives me a natural looking glow that blends into my foundation without looking streaky and as if it had been plastered on, there is nothing worse than seeing somebody wearing too much blusher!

I adore this, I will definitely buy more when I run out even at the full price of £8, it's great value as well as great quality, which is exactly what you'd expect from Look. This blusher is going to last me so long as a little looks so much better than layering the product. I'm so impressed with this, I will definitely be trying more products from the range.

You can buy Make Me Blush on the Look Beauty website here and it's half price! You can also buy it in selected Superdrug stores.

Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Foundation review

I am really fussy when it comes to foundation. I've always struggled to find the right one because I have combination skin so foundation has always been a nightmare for me. My face gets really dry, especially at this time of year so finding a foundation that won't make dry skin noticeable whilst hiding my oily skin is really difficult. Seriously, nightmare! I was definitely debating whether to buy the product or not when I was in Superdrug, but for £5.99 I thought it wouldn't be the end of the world if it wasn't amazing, but it is! The foundation is so easy to blend so I can put on as much or as little as I like, I tend to need more coverage over my nose and forehead area so it's really great that I can have more foundation on those areas without looking caked in make-up. The fact that it is oil free is a blessing to my skin!

The packaging caught my eye straight away, it's really simple with neon pink writing. The pump makes it really easy not to waste the product and the bottle isn't too big so it fits perfectly into my make-up bag. I would definitely recommend this product because it's hydrating and it stays matte! I still put matte powder on over the top with some bronzer (the powder makes my face really pale), but it stays on all day so I don't have to touch up during my breaks. The foundation feels really light and it makes me feel really confident as I know my skin looks really clear.
You should definitely get down to Superdrug and get yourself a bottle of this foundation, it is available in 5 shades and right now when you spend £9 on Barry M products you get a Lash Vegas mascara for free (which is also amazing!)! I never thought to buy anything except nail paints from the Barry M range but I am definitely going to go back for more when I run out!
You can get it from Superdrug here and from Barry M here!

Eylure Naturalites - Evening 101 Strip Lashes Review

A little while ago I went into Tesco to see that the Eylure lashes were half price, so obviously I had to get some! I decided to try the Evening 101 lashes from the Naturalites range because they were a nice length and weren't too thick.

I love putting on a new set of lashes because the strip is quite stiff so they're super easy to apply and they keep their shape all night. The 101 lashes have a black strip (other Eylure lashes have a clear strip) so they saved me from having to put eyeliner on as they make my eyes look defined. I love these lashes because they open my eyes up and they look really natural. The adhesive that came in the pack held them in place and when I went to take them off they were still secure on my natural lash line. All in all I would definitely recommend these lashes because they were so lightweight and they made me feel so girly but they were still natural looking. I love them!

New Barry M Releases

Anybody who knows me will know that I love painting my nails and I only ever use Barry M Nail paints; they're amazing quality, the colours are gorgeous and they don't hurt my bank balance so you can imagine my excitement when I found out that two new collections are being added to the range! I've been trying to find a matte black nail varnish for months and I've had no luck without having to spend a small fortune. Not only is Barry M bringing out a matte black but there's four more colours to collect! The Matte collection seem like the perfect colours for autumn and winter and they'll be available by the end of this month. It's time to pack up the pinks and corals and make room for the nude tones with a red and black hitting Superdrug on September 25th and at only £3.99 each why not get them all?!

Who doesn't love a good bit of glitter on their nails? The Royal Glitter collection is also being launched on September 25th and I really can't wait! Christmas may still be a few months away but each nail paint is so sparkly I can't help but think they will be perfect for the holiday season! They are texturised but improvements have been made to take away the gritty, sandy feeling of the polishes. These are matte as well so both collections can be worn together, as nail art or just a feature nail.

I will definitely be giving these nail paints a go when they come out, £3.99 is crazy cheap! I think all of the colours are so nice and I can't wait to write a review on whichever paints I buy, if they are anything like the rest of the nail paint range I'm sure there won't be any complaints!
